Flag Retirement

Veteran Flag Retirement Program

“The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.”

The United States Flag Code, Title 4, Section 8

Dallas, Fort Worth, and surrounding North Texas families finally have a unique way to honor their veterans with a fitting tribute during cremation.

Simple Cremation is proud to announce that we are now accepting donations of American Flags that are no longer suitable to display for our Veteran Flag Retirement Program.

Each donated American Flag will be used to honor a departed US Veteran by being draped over their body prior to cremation. The flag’s final patriotic act will be in service to a veteran and the cremation process provides a dignified retirement.

Permission from the veteran’s family is sought before this service is provided. A keepsake certificate is given to the family when they return to receive the veteran’s cremation urn.

There is no charge for the Veteran Flag Retirement Program. If you would like to donate a flag for retirement please contact Simple Cremation and ask to speak with a cremation specialist. If you or a loved one is a veteran and you’re interested in participating in the program we would be honored to pre-arrange your services to document your choices. If you have already experienced a loss in your family please call us so that we can assist you right away. A cremation specialist can be reached 24/7 by calling 855-978-5813 Toll-Free or our local number 682-316-8301.
