Jane Edna Briggs, age 97, entered into eternal rest on August 5, 2020. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on September 15, 1922.

Jane moved her family numerous times, while Bill served in the Navy. The reason for moving the family so often, was due to her husband’s employment transfers. She never lost a thing on any move, however. The biggest trip she ever took was when she and Bill traveled around the world.

She was an avid reader, loved puzzle books, daily newspaper crossword puzzles, and any mystery novel she could get her hands on.  Jane also belonged to bridge clubs and to the Mystery Guild for many years.

Jane always helped anyone when the need arose.  She assisted with the childcare of her grandchildren when she could, even if it meant travelling to other states to assist.  Any of us who needed help with homework or research - be it elementary or college level - she would assist.  She supported many, many charity organizations, churches and local communities throughout her life.  And some organizations, she assisted silently.  Yes, on many occasions Jane loudly vocalized her support for her kids, grandkids or great grandkids, with any sports or academic activities or programs.  Jane was always there.

Jane is preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Briggs. Jane and Bill were married for 64 years prior to his eternal rest in 2005.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Connie and husband Dave Burnap, of Grand Prairie, Texas, her son, Bill and wife Trish Briggs, Jr. of Tiverton, Rhode Island, her daughter, Nancy and husband Dale Sherrill, of Grand Prairie, Texas, her seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  Jane is survived also by numerous nieces and nephews residing in Alabama, Arizona and Indiana.

Internment will be at the DFW National Cemetery on September 15, 2020.
