Melody Marie Cook
(Davis)(Stubblefield) Smith

A lifelong resident of Texas, Melody went home to be with the Lord, at 9:04 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2020 in Fort Worth Texas. She will be sorely missed by all those who succeed her.

On March 18, 1965 in Longview Texas, a beautiful baby girl with curly red hair and dimples, was born to David Lee and JoAnn Cook. The youngest of five children, “Peetie Pie” as she came to be called, was the song of her daddy’s heart.

Melody’s young life was spent mostly in Irving Texas, where she attended Nimitz High School, Class of ‘83. Soon after she became “Mommy” to her daughters Jennifer Marie in ‘84 and Jessica Leigh Ann in ‘86.  She then became lovingly referred to as “Grammy” when she was blessed with many grandchildren. The joy and pride she had in each of these children was widely known and cherished.

Melody was a lover of animals, muscle cars, and all things Harley Davidson. She was known to be quick witted, charismatic, and very resourceful. She never met a stranger and made friends easily. With a smile that lit up the room and her contagious laughter, there was never a dull moment with her around. She was the life of the party and a master storyteller.

These attributes contributed to her success as a veterinary assistant, and later as an entrepreneur. She had a knack for running businesses, and built her own trucking company from scratch.

Melody loved everyone fiercely, and gave her whole heart to all her friends and family. It was all but impossible not to feel the same way about her. She will live on in the wonderful memories that she shared with so many. She was absolutely loved beyond measure.

Preceded in death by both her momma and daddy, as well as her dog Sassy, all of whom she loved very much. She is survived by her daughters Jennifer (spouse Alex) and Jessica (spouse Adam), her bonus kids Brandon (spouse Erica), Justin (spouse Haley) and Holli (spouse Logan), her grand babies: Rex, Myah, Lacy, Lexi, Jack, Ashton, Marley, Lennox, Amelia, and Kieran, her Best Friends Sherri and Misti and their children, her siblings David, Larry, Debbie, and Jimmy, her many nieces and nephews and their families, and Mike and Joni Davis, along with multitudes of friends, family, and loved ones.

A Celebration of Melody's life will be held at a later date. Those details will be included here once finalized.
