James Louis Daniel
Jim died on Thursday morning, June 7, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Dallas due to complications from metastatic kidney cancer. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Paula Means Daniel, son Michael and daughter-in-law Raquel of Desoto, son Robert of San Diego, and 2 grandsons, Hayden and Anthony.
Jim was born in Artesia, New Mexico, and loved his home state. He and Paula lived in the Albuquerque, NM area until 11 years ago, when they moved to Texas, and lived in Ft. Worth. He graduated from West Mesa High School, and joined the United States Marine Corps not long afterward, where he served proudly until March of 1972, with his home base as Camp LeJeune, NC.
Jim retired from the Teamsters, having worked at Creamland Dairy in Albuquerque, and then worked at Cummins Southern Plains in Arlington.
He loved his God, his wife, his children and grandchildren, his flag and his country. He also loved the Marine Corps and was proud to have served.
Everyone loved Jim, as he was a kind and gentle man, who helped everyone he could, without regard to his own needs. We will miss him so.
A committal service with military honors will be held at a later date.
