Linda Smith Obituary

Linda Darlene Smith, aged 78, of Bedford, Texas, passed from this life on March 23, 2024. Born on April
24, 1945, in Wolfe City, she was the daughter of Walter and Alyne Dever and grew to be a woman of
great character and kindness, deeply loved by all who knew her.

Linda's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and the simple joys that she found in
everyday pleasures. She nurtured a passion for horses and dogs, delighted in the challenges of puzzle
books, and relished the escapism offered by game shows and literature. Her adventurous spirit was
evident in her love for long car rides, guided by the philosophy that “you’re not lost if you’re not going
somewhere specific.”

An avid lover of nature, Linda often found peace and solace in having lunch by the lake, watching the
boats and feeling the gentle breeze. She was a joyful spirit, known for her love of playing card and board
games with her family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Linda is survived by her loving sons John W. Smith, Shayne P. Smith, Jody E. Smith (with spouse Karen),
Chad M. Smith (with spouse Dee), and her devoted daughter Patia R. Smith. She also leaves behind her
sister Patricia Davis, brother Larry Dever, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, with one more
soon to join the family circle.

Linda was preceded in passing by her beloved husband Donald E. Smith, also known as "Smitty," her
brother Danny Dever, and her parents.

The Smith family will announce a Celebration of Life service in Linda's memory at a future date. They
invite those who shared in her life to join them in honoring a soul who was the embodiment of love,
friendship, and generosity.

In the quiet moments by the lake where she loved to be, in the laughter around a game board, and in
the pages of a well-worn puzzle book, Linda's spirit lives on. She will be profoundly missed and eternally
cherished in the hearts of those she has left behind.

I love you all. Be Good, I’ll See Ya Later, & Have A Good Time - Momma /Grandma Smith/Meemaw/Aunt
