James Robert “J.R.” Geeo, 64, of Arlington, TX, passed away September 9, 2019 at the Dallas VA Hospital. 

Born January 24, 1955 in Dallas, TX, to the late Robert Geeo and Joy (Tucker) Springfield.

J.R. grew up in Bellaire, TX with his siblings Richard “Rockye” Baumgardner and Tracye Baumgardner Sanders.  His nicknames as a child were Robbye and Rob.

J.R. joined the Army and was based at Ft Campbell, Kentucky where he served from 1972 - 1975.  He had various jobs in his younger years, however, in his later years he owned his own sheetrock repair business, The Rock Doc.

J.R. enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, going to car races at Texas Motor Speedway and fishing.  One item on his bucket list was to own a Harley motorcycle, which he accomplished a few years ago, he said it was the most freeing and relaxing experience to get on his bike and ride.

J.R was preceded in death by his father, Robert Geeo and younger brother, Richard “Rockye” Baumgardner and his devoted dog, Molly.

J.R. is survived by his children, Mandy Geeo Childers, Jesica Geeo, Meggan Geeo and Shane Geeo; mother Joy Springfield; step-father James Baumgardner; sister Tracye Sanders and husband Paul; step siblings James Baumgardner Jr, Maggie McGonnigil and husband Ken; Alesia Resse and husband John; grandson Ian Childers; longtime friend Grace Laderer; extended family and dear friends, as well as, his loving cat, Harley.

A service to celebrate the life of J.R. will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 28th at Colonial Baptist Church, 6459 Scyene Rd, Dallas, TX 75227 with a visitation following in the fellowship hall. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation in his name to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of one’s choice.
