JoAnn Masters, 82, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at her home in Grapevine, Texas.
Born in 1936 in Brownwood, Texas, to G.P. “Geep” Mitcham and Jane (Gober) Mitcham, JoAnn graduated from Brownwood High School in 1955, and attended Southern Methodist University. She met her husband, Ray Douglas Masters, at BHS. They were married in 1957. JoAnn and Ray were together 47 years before he passed away in 2004.
God and family came first for JoAnn. She had a cheerful demeanor, and many who crossed her path were touched by her optimism and generosity. Her life’s passion was to grow closer to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and study His Word. JoAnn devoted untold hours to intercessory prayer.
She is survived by her children, son Mark Masters and wife Danis Masters of Weatherford, daughter Marci Stapp and husband Greg Stapp of Aubrey, four granddaughters (Cayla Richey, Loren Harry, Chelsea Solano, and Rachel Masters), one grandson (Andrew Masters), and seven great grandchildren (Brinley, Reagan, Aria, Emersyn, Avelyn, Kallen, and Preston).
JoAnn’s family look forward to reuniting with her in heaven. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
A memorial service for family members and close friends will be held at JoAnn’s home in Grapevine.
